Swiss rail manufacturer, Stadler, will outline its rolling stock and service activities and plans for the UK at this year’s EMCON, which is now just three weeks away.
Stadler, which is once again the event’s headline sponsor, will give a presentation about its four live UK projects in East Anglia, Liverpool, Glasgow and Wales. It will provide an update on current orders for new trains, focusing on the service and maintenance element of these contracts, as well as on local supply chains.
With more than 40 service locations in 18 countries, Stadler has a service presence in all four locations in the UK where it is delivering trains, employing 150 in this area of the business.
The presentation will be given by Neil Heaton, head of fleet maintenance for Stadler Rail Service UK.
Ben Gilhespy, Operations Director at the Engineering and Manufacturing Network (EMN), which organises EMCON, said: “Stadler Rail UK are undergoing a period of significant UK growth and the North East is a key region for them.
“This year specifically they’ll be giving an insight into what their plans look like, and how companies in our region can tap into the opportunities which could be available through Stadler’s supply chain.
“For any businesses or visitors attending that think they could capitalise, this session is a ‘must-attend’.”
Neil Heaton will also participate in this year’s maintenance forum.
This year’s EMCON takes place on Thursday, October 10.
Alongside Stadler Rail UK and Jackson Hogg Recruitment, which is the event’s delivery partner, Business Durham maintains its gold sponsorship status while other sponsors include GOM, Horizon Works, Kite Packaging and Lumo Tax, which are all silver sponsors, and LemonTop Creative, ACB North and E-max Systems, which are bronze sponsors.
