A North East leisure club is creating a suite of ‘rentable’ treatment rooms as part of an exciting Covid-19 lockdown transformation.

In addition to the five new rooms – which are aimed at local, self-employed beauticians to hire – Active Life Leisure Club, located within the grounds of the iconic Scotch Corner Hotel, is having its reception area reconfigured to create more of a ‘club feel’.

The stand-alone facility, which is popular with local residents and hotel guests alike, boasts a 14m swimming pool, fully equipped gym, an extensive free weights area, and dance studio.

Lynda Weston, Active Life Leisure Club manager, said: “We are currently in the middle of revitalising our Active Life Leisure Club, which will see the reception area being moved and the creation of these five, new treatment rooms.

“The work we are doing is not only designed to refresh the public areas, it will give it more of a ‘club feel’, one that is more welcoming and, when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, entice members to stay longer and use it more regularly.

“The five treatment rooms, which will be located on the ground and first floor, are being created to provide the likes of self-employed beauty therapists, hairdressers, nail technicians and holistic therapists with a first-class facility that they can rent on a weekly basis.

“The rooms will be ideal for those just starting their own business or looking for a new location from where to work. The rental fee also includes utilities, parking space, serviced reception and serviced booking administration service.”
