North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) has announced four new appointments, as part of its strategy to drive growth through collaborative procurement.

Marie Perriam and Laura Kyle have been promoted to energy lead and construction lead, respectively.

Both Marie and Laura joined NEPO following completion of an apprenticeship scheme and progressed their careers from procurement officers to their new, senior roles.

Their promotions will see them take on strategic responsibility for NEPO’s energy and construction categories, with a combined annual value of approximately £340 million.

Also joining the team are Jane Turner and Sarah Brown who, together, bring over 30 years of procurement experience to the organisation.

Jane joins NEPO from PD Ports where she was sourcing manager, prior to that she worked as senior procurement officer at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council for over a decade. Her new role as procurement specialist will see her work alongside Laura in the construction team.

Sarah joins as procurement specialist, responsible for the fleet category.  She was previously procurement advisor at Karbon Homes and commences her career at NEPO leading the procurement of a regional framework for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Nicola Shelley, managing director at NEPO, said: “Jane and Sarah are new additions to the team and will bring a wealth of experience to assist us to move forward with our ambitious strategy.

“As Marie and Laura’s well-deserved promotions demonstrate, procurement is a rewarding career path that incorporates professional development and recognises talent. The next three years will see significant developments in public sector construction and energy, as the levelling-up and climate action agendas continue to take centre stage. The creation of these new roles will help the North East public sector to seize opportunities and deliver for the communities we serve.”
