An award-winning national developer is set to raise its profile as it begins work in the North East for the first time.
Persona is coming to the region after a series of successful projects across Yorkshire and the South East. The unique brand, which was created in 2018, is aiming to bring a different approach to building new homes.
Their latest development, Ellison Grove in Hebburn, will see a mixture of two, three, four and five bedroom houses, to cater for both first time buyers and families alike. Starting at £145,000, the homes will be built to reflect modern lifestyles, with contemporary designs, large windows and open plan living.
Joe Cook, Executive Director of Development at Persona, said: “We want to be different to all the other large housing developers across the UK. All profits from our new build sales are reinvested into the provision of multi tenure developments and tackling housing shortages across the country.
“As well as the social purpose of the company, we’re also trying to do things differently when it comes to the design of our homes, their affordability and, of course, our customer service. We’re delighted to be starting work in Hebburn as the region is really close to our hearts. We can’t wait to see North East people enjoying their new homes.”
The development in Hebburn represents a return home for Persona as it forms part of Newcastle-based Home Group, one of the largest providers of housing, health and social care in the UK.
Home Group were one of the top builders among housing associations in 2019 after investing £349 million into the creation of new homes. The housing association manages 55,000 homes across England and Scotland and supports around 120,000 customers.
Joe Cook added: “Our goal is to build the right homes in the right places at the right price – whether that’s through Home Group or Persona. We always put people before profit and we’re on a mission not just to build houses, but people’s independence and aspirations too.
“This form of social responsibility has already proven a deciding factor for some house hunters, as more and more people rightly question the principles and values of brands they buy from. We can be confident Persona’s social credentials stand up.”
