A Jesmond mum has won a top national business award.

Laura Barker, owner of theNewcastle franchise of Rhythm Time Franchisee, has won Small Business of the Year 2019 in the prestigious Family Network Business Recognition National Awards.

Laura, who is a mum of two young children, runs multi-sensory music classes for babies and toddlers across the Newcastle  area.

Expressing her delight she said: “I am absolutely over the moon to have won this award. Setting up my own business has allowed me to juggle a successful career whilst having the flexibility to enjoy family life with my young children.

“It has been a dream come true and achieving recognition from The Family Network at the awards ceremony really is the icing on the cake! It truly makes all the hard work feel like it has paid off and I am very proud of all of my team. I’m so excited about the future and how the business can grow even bigger.”

The winners were announced at a black tie awards ceremony on Saturday 23 of March at DoubleTree Hilton (Docklands) in London, where they also raised vital funds for Woman’s Aid on the night.
