A respected and influential leader who has turned her passion into a successful business is working with dozens of current and future leaders to help them succeed.
Claire Walton founded Leaders are Making a Difference (MAD) after three decades of working in management and leadership roles for some of the country’s most well-known brands.
Having developed a passion for powering up leaders to perform to their potential, helping them adopt a mindset for success without stress, and the self-leadership strategies to become more motivated and inspiring figureheads, Claire is now bringing together dozens of leaders and managers to help them see how making small changes to the way they work will make big differences to their organisations and employees.
Claire is holding a unique development day – ‘Super Power You’ at Rockliffe Hall, Darlington, on November 1, where she will share practical strategies to help people achieve more success with less stress.
Claire, whose business in based on Teesside, said: “Leaders around the world are feeling more pressure than ever, yet are tasked with leading their employees with clarity, confidence, courage and compassion.
“It’s such a tough time for everyone and if the people we look to to inspire and support others are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, how can they possibly bring out the best in their people? As we know, the knock-on effect of stress levels within the workplace is massive.
“The purpose of this ‘Super Power Development Day’ is to show people how to maximise their leadership performance potential. The best leaders are calm, clear, confident, courageous, curious, and compassionate, they are consistent, they make us feel safe in their hands. These are qualities leaders have but they are not always setting themselves up for success. They don’t have all the available strategies to enable them to perform at their best and they often self-sabotage.”
Claire, who held Director roles in companies including Royal Mail Group, Dixons Stores Group, Carlsberg and Quorn, decided to host the development day after the successful release of her bestselling book, entitled Super Neuro You.
The day will cover the ‘unlocking moves’ leaders can make to improve their performance, which have a ripple effect throughout the organisation, including, a Vision of Success, a Massively Motivational Purpose, and a Personal Peak Performance Strategy (PPPS). The PPPS includes practical approaches to boosting your personal performance on a daily basis, with experts joining Claire to speak on topics such as the power of breath, the power of your gut and the power of laughter.
Claire added: “Most leadership development is aimed at core leadership skills such as how to be more strategic, how to effectively manage individuals and lead teams. Most leaders know the ‘How’ of leadership but are letting themselves get in the way of delivering these effectively.
“I pride myself on listening to what people say they need and finding a solution for it. This one-day event is a brilliant way of supercharging performance, and I am excited to see people signing up to join us at Rockliffe Hall, for what will be a day packed with practical approaches to achieve peak performance potential.
“I am also hugely passionate about helping local charities and five per cent of the profits made from this event will go towards My Sister’s Place, a domestic abuse charity based in Middlesbrough.”
The day is being supported by local businesses and organisations who have worked with Claire and share her passion for making a difference. Initial sponsors include Active Financial Planners, JBCA Accountants from Teesside and Sullivan Brown Resourcing Partners, and Nigel Wright Group from Newcastle.
