A North East lighting business has secured its latest new hire as the firm’s rapid growth continues apace.

Artech Lighting has welcomed new Regional Sales Manager, Daniel Renforth, to its Durham City HQ. With 11 years’ experience in the lighting industry, having worked in East Anglia, Yorkshire and latterly nationally, Daniel’s appointment will further enhance Artech’s impressive reputation across the development sector.

It is something of a homecoming for Daniel, who was born and bred in Gosforth and attended Northumbria University before work commitments eventually saw him move to Disley, Manchester, in 2016.

A Building Services Engineering Graduate, Daniel initially worked as an Electrical Consulting Engineer, working at three of the largest mechanical and engineering consultancies in the UK before moving into the lighting industry.

Daniel joins Artech from Whitecroft Lighting and is aiming to hit the ground running with his new employers.

He said: “The market needs businesses like Artech Lighting that are agile, creative and embrace tech and innovation to not only improve the products it manufactures, but address issues like rising energy costs, reducing carbon output and using lighting to capture data. Our nimble approach and engineering dexterity are critical as we partner with customers to meet their net zero, product regeneration and circular economy aspirations.

“I was immediately struck by the way the team pivots to meet the specific needs of clients. The days of just offering “one size fits all” lighting products are over – Artech works hard to understand the unique aspects and requirements of every project it works on. Their rapid manufacturing capability allows us to serve the Retail Sector, and our breadth of luminaires and controls product offer, provides our customers a complete lighting and digital solution for the healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial sectors, whether new build or refurbishment’.

“I love that every product in our range is designed, developed and manufactured here in the North East and, as a Geordie, it’s great to come back to the North East and be part of a team that’s rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about lighting companies in the UK.”

Daniel will cover, but not be limited to, the North of England, working directly with Sales Director Sean Kirkland, who joined Artech last year.

Artech’s staff has risen to 40 people in recent years, due to a string of major contracts secured in the UK and overseas, with turnover more than doubling during the same period.

Sean said: “Having worked with Daniel in the past, I know that his enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for lighting will be a genuine benefit to the business.

“Artech Lighting has long been punching above its weight, but now we’re really mixing it with the big boys of the industry and long may that continue. We are committed to growth and innovation, making lighting smarter, more efficient, more cost effective and gentler on the environment.”

Artech Lighting is a UK lighting company based in County Durham that designs, develops and manufactures lighting solutions.
