Children at a primary school in Heighington are celebrating after receiving a boost towards their learning equipment from a local housebuilder.
Heighington Church of England Primary School has received a donation of £300 from Bellway, which is building new homes at Meadow Rise, off Walworth Lane in the village.
Bellway’s donation has helped the school to purchase an iPad, which the students have been using to learn interactively.
The school’s headteacher, Carly Spence, said: “We are very grateful to Bellway for their kind donation.
“Our children are delighted with their new iPad, and this week they have been using it to creative some fantastic stories with photos and sounds.”
Darren Pelusi, Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, said: “We are very pleased to be able to contribute to Heighington Primary School’s learning facilities, and believe that interactive learning is a wonderful way for the pupils to get involved in the curriculum.
“At Bellway we do our best to give back to the communities that we build new homes in, and we really hope this donation will benefit the children.”
