Historic building of the Hexham Courant hits the market

Local property consultancy, youngsRPS, has been appointed as the selling agents for the Hexham Courant offices in the town centre of Hexham, Northumberland.

The three-storey property is currently in use as office/warehouse space, however, with views over Hexham Abbey as well as the Sele Park and Gardens, it has fantastic potential for conversion to various other uses, such as leisure or residential (subject to planning consent).

Associate Director and Chartered Commercial Surveyor at youngsRPS, Paul Fairlamb said: “This is a rare opportunity to purchase not only a property with character and such a prominent position, but with so much versatility and potential for development.

“The town centre has just completed a multi-million pound investment project which set out to regenerate Hexham’s historic town centre making it a more attractive, engaging, and vibrant place for people to live, work, invest and visit. On top of this, in the past year, we have experienced an exciting influx of new and independent businesses, including retailers and as well as various coffee shops, delis and restaurants.

“It is a really exciting time for Hexham, and we have already received significant interest in the former Hexham Courant building, which we look forward to seeing being developed in the future, whether that be for offices, leisure of residential use.”

The property has a gross internal area of 4478 sq ft split across three floors.
