Further details on the £260 million proposals to redevelop Gateshead Quays with a 12,500 capacity arena, conference centre, hotels, cafes, bars restaurants, and shops have been unveiled.
The development team behind the proposals are seeking involvement from the community by holding a public consultation later this month.
There will also be an opportunity to view the plans at www.askrealestate.co.uk/gq-consultation which will be available following the exhibition.
The site which is located between the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and the Sage Gateshead, is being brought forward by Ask Real Estate and PATRIZIA UK in partnership with Gateshead Council.
The development team has appointed national planning and development consultancy Lichfields to facilitate the planning process.

The development also includes a conference and exhibition centre, featuring a large hall with stage. A dual branded 3*/4* hotel will connect to the exhibition centre providing over 300 beds as well as further leisure facilities, including a rooftop bar.
The development team have already held consultation events for local stakeholders and would now like to welcome the public to be part of the planning process. ]
The consultation will take place on Thursday, February 27, between 3pm and 7pm, at St Mary’s Heritage Centre, Oakwellgate, Gateshead NE8 2AU.
