For the young “Fashion’ trendsetters and those in their “Golden Years”, a former dental nurse has opened a specialist eyebrow clinic in Newcastle driven by her love of music legend David Bowie.

30-year-old Emily Rogers grew up to the tunes of the singer, along with those of her dad who is a musician, and decided to dedicate her eyebrow bar to Bowie in honour of his unique style and the contribution he made to music.

Emily spotted the niche in the market while rising through the ranks as a dental nurse and, after managing three different branches, decided to take the plunge and open her own business.

Bowie’s Brow Bar offers Microblading, a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. The treatment is ideal for clients with alopecia or undergoing chemotherapy treatment, and anyone who wants a low maintenance beauty routine.

Emily, who qualified with the elite AK Microblading Training Academy, said: “I had visited lots of other brow studios and they were all the same with boring pink colours and flowers on the wall. I wanted to be different and include part of me and my love for David Bowie’s creative and inimitable style into the practice.”

The Bar is proving popular with people in their 40s and 50s who often bring in Bowie memorabilia to add to the bar’s décor collection and she is also rapidly growing a younger male and female clientele.

Emily said: “I feel so proud of Bowie’s Brow Bar and love being able to talk about how it’s a unique place where we can all be heroes!

“It’s a safe and friendly place for everyone to find their personal style and build their confidence by permanently improving the shape, thickness, and appearance of their natural eyebrows.”

Other treatments include brow shaping, waxing and henna brow tinting and a range of Covid-19 secure measures are in place including regular cleaning, use of hand gel, and the use of screens, masks, and gloves.

Emily concluded: “I can’t think of anything else I would rather be doing! In a world of Kim Kardashians, you need a David Bowie!”
