Cleveland Containers took away the top award at the Teesside heat of the North East Business Awards last month.

The event, which took place at Middlesbrough College, celebrated the talent, achievements and growth of businesses within the Tees Valley region.

The win rounded up an exciting week for Cleveland Containers as they have also secured investment from leading private equity firm LDC to further enhance their sales and rental offering, supporting the company’s growth plans.

Jonathan Bulmer, Managing Director and Company Founder, said: “This is our first ever award win and I am unbelievably proud of the entire team for their hard work in helping us achieve this accolade.

“To have our efforts recognised as an innovative company that champions its people is truly special.”

The win followed a record-breaking year for the company, which saw revenue grow 65% and their workforce increase by 28% in the last 12 months.

Bulmer added: “It’s a great time to be a growing business in Teesside and we have some exciting opportunities on the horizon that serve to strengthen our current position as the Uk’s leading shipping container supplier.”

The win means that Cleveland will go on to face the winners of the other two heats (Newcastle Building Society and eQuality Solutions) at the finals of the North East Business Awards in September.
