A business owner from Consett is offering fully funded training for bars, restaurants, cafes and wet-led businesses in County Durham.
Dan Bowes, who runs bar consultancy, cocktail party and events company, Mr Mixologist, will run the first of his two-day masterclasses at The Old Court House Bar and Kitchen in Consett.
He will share his experience, processes, procedures and ‘3-minute-serves’ to help bar owners and employees bolster their current drinks menus, improve their ways of working and take them back to basics where many venues can overlook those steps.
Dan has teamed up with fellow trainer Michelle Rose, of Custard & Bear, who will teach delegates how to turn what they learn from Dan into marketing content to help them grow their businesses.
The first day of the masterclass is February 5, with the second following a week later, giving each business around 14 hours of intensive funded training.

Dan, who provides consultative services to bars across the county, said: “A maximum of two members of staff from each business will be eligible to attend the course and we advise that at least one of those be in a supervisory position or above to get the most out of the masterclass in terms of cascading the training to their teams.
“On the second day of the masterclasses, I will also be inviting along some of the biggest brands around to do talks with the delegates on the course where I will show them how to turn the brand into an Instagram-worthy snap.
“Working with Michelle adds another layer to the masterclass, because not only do delegates get to take a step away from the day to day running of their businesses to look at and learn new techniques, they also learn how to turn that what they learn into great content for social media.”
The masterclasses are fully funded by NBSL’s North East Business Support Fund (NEBSF), which is supported by the European Regional Development Fund, and are open to County Durham based bars, restaurants, cafes and wet lead businesses
