A familiar face within the construction industry has joined chartered accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill.

Having been with Gus Robinson Developments for the past 39 years, latterly in the role of finance director, Jeanette Henderson has joined the Hartlepool Marina-based team.

After hearing about the finance manager position with Waltons, Jeanette decided to rethink her decision of early retirement.

“After spending so long with my previous employer, it could have been daunting to join a new place of work, but it hasn’t been,” said Jeanette.

“I came here to be part of a team I already had a strong relationship with, a firm whose values reflect those which I have been accustomed to for almost 40 years.”

Jeanette has taken on a slightly different role with Waltons, managing the firm’s accounts and payroll in a part-time capacity with the support of the finance team.

She said: “Being back on the tools has been brilliant. I’ve started with Waltons during a time of transformation and it’s very exciting to be part of it.

“The whole team have been so welcoming and I’m excited as to what the future holds.

“I hope to add value to the team through my past experience and also my understanding from a client’s perspective.”

Jeanette has replaced Gillian Lyons, following her retirement, after nine years with the firm.

Waltons’ operations director Sharon Hutchinson said: “I am thrilled Jeanette has agreed to join us.

“She brings a wealth of experience to the table which is already proving very valuable. I am really looking forward to working with her and having her input at such a pivotal time for us.”

And managing director Paul Harrison added: “Jeanette is a fantastic addition to our senior team.

“Having worked with her in her former role, I know the energy and commitment she will bring to her new responsibilities, and we can already see the impact.”
